Saima is a lifelong resident of Macomb County.  She graduated from Warren Woods Tower High School and continued her studies at Wayne State University on a Presidential Scholarship.  She later earned her Masters in Public Administration from the University of Michigan Dearborn and a Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Saima has practiced not only in Macomb County, but also in many other jurisdictions in Michigan.  Saima has vast experience in representing clients in family law matters.  She recently opened her own practice, Khalil Law PLLC, where she developed an expertise in criminal law.  Additionally, Saima practices appellate law in both the Circuit Court and the Court of Appeals.  Saima lives in Sterling Heights where she is raising her niece and nephew.  She enjoys spending time with her family and five cute kitties.

• Specialty and Treatment Courts - Specialty and treatment courts are instrumental in helping people in times of crisis.  Mental Health Matters - Many people who suffer from mental health disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.  Specialty treatment courts are impactful in connecting people to resources, ensuring treatment, and diversion.  In addition, Veterans Treatment Courts help our veterans identify the root cause of their behavior.  Providing resources for addiction helps veterans stay out of the criminal system. 
• Equal Access to Courts - Everyone deserves a fair day in court.  Accessing court is more than just being open for business.  It means recognizing the individual in a non-discriminatory manner, having interpreters available, ensuring the fair administration of justice, and preserving human dignity in resolving disputes.
